Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi arrival
Upon your arrival at Noi Bai – Hanoi International Airport, our tour guide will be holding a welcome signboard & your name outside the baggage claim area and escort you to Hanoi downtown with a brief introduction en route. Check-in the hotel.
The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore our city.
Day 2: Hanoi City tour full day (B, L)
After breakfast at your hotel, begin your guided city tour at historic Ba Dinh Square and visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Museum (viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov), the One Pillar Pagoda and Tran Quoc Pagoda, then continue with a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university established in 1076. Have lunch at one of the city’s famous restaurants.
Visit the Museum of Ethnology in the afternoon, take a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter, enjoy the view of Hoan Kiem Lake and stop at Dong Xuan market. Enjoy a water puppet show in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
Optional activities in the evening in Hanoi:
– Enjoy drinks at nearby café/ bar/ pub
– Wandering around Hanoi downtown area (Weekend walking streets from Friday night until Sunday around Hoan Kiem Lake and Old Quarter area)
– Take an evening motorbike/ scooter/ walking tour
Day 3: Hanoi – Ninh Binh (B, L)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, we leave Hanoi for Hoa Lu – Tam Coc, enjoying the beautiful sceneries of the rural areas on the way. After arriving in Ninh Binh province, the guide takes you to visit Hoa Lu – The Ancient Royal capital of Viet Nam under the Dinh dynasty, the Early Le dynasty and the beginning period of Ly dynasty. There are two temples here which are dedicated to King Dinh and King Le. The distance between them is 500 meters.
After that, we go to Tam Coc (10 km far from Hoa Lu), you will have lunch at a nice restaurant before boarding a small boat to visit Tam Coc, meaning literally, “Three Caves”. This place is praised as a ‘Halong Bay of the Rice Fields’ thanks to its endless mountain views, tranquil water, and spectacular caves, which is an inspiration for poets and painters.
Day 4: Ninh Binh – Hai Phong (B, L)
08.30 am, our driver and guide will come to your hotel and transfer to Hai Phong city known as the Flamboyant Flower City is the largest port city in the North of Vietnam. It takes about 2.5 hours to arrive Hai Phong from Ninh Binh. Check-in hotel. Lunch at a nice restaurant.
13.00 pm: Start a half-day city tour. Firstly, we go to Cao Linh Pagoda, then move to the city center to visit the Hai Phong Opera House, Flower Stall, Le Chan Statue.
Continue to visit Du Hang Pagoda, an ancient place in Hai Phong. After that, you will be transferred to the hotel. Free on your own at night. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Hai Phong – Halong (B, L, D)
In the morning, our driver and guide will pick up and transfer you to Halong bay from your hotel. It will take roughly 2 hours to arrive Halong.
Arrival at lunchtime, check in our luxury cruise and start your wonderful time in Halong Bay. Spend the whole afternoon to enjoy magnificent sceneries around you, there are thousands of limestone islands standing in the middle of seawater, all of them are covered by a thick layer of green forest which make Halong Bay more and more beautiful.
Have lunch, dinner and stay overnight on boat.
Day 6: Halong – Hanoi (B & L)
Wake up early to enjoy the fresh air of the sea, take part in some morning exercises on the sundeck with our master. Then, have breakfast and our boat lift anchor to start cruising in the bay again. Keep the camera ready on your hand to take the best photos of Halong Bay in the morning.
Check out and have lunch on the boat. Our boat finished cruising at the harbor and time to say goodbye Halong Bay, catch our car/bus back to Hanoi. Arrive at Hanoi at around 4.00 pm.
Day 7: Hanoi – Depart (B)
After having breakfast at the hotel, free time for shopping in Hanoi. You can walk around the Old Quarter and buy some souvenirs in Hanoi. Then we will transfer you to the airport for your flight home. Goodbye and hope to see you again soon!
