Itinerary

Day 1: Da Nang Arrival (N/A)

Welcome to the capital of Vietnam’s coastal center, Da Nang. At the airport, you will be met by the tour guide and driver, who will then take you into the center or to the eastern beach of the city, where we will check you in to your hotel (at any time after 14:00).

The rest of the day can be spent as your free time, so it would be a good idea to get settled into the reclined atmosphere of Da Nang with a Vietnamese coffee, appreciating the markedly different lifestyle here than Vietnam’s more frantic major cities.

Notes: There are no meals included on the first day. Make your own arrangements for your meals and stay overnight in Da Nang.

Day 2: Da Nang – Free Day (B)

One way to spend it is by visiting Da Nang’s many beaches, such as the central My Khe beach or stunning Non Nuoc and Lang Co beaches, lying further outside the city. Alternatively, you could take a trip to the Sun World Ba Na Hills, a fantastic way to spend the day with a multitude of rides, attractions, and shows to entertain both the little ones and the adults.

Notes: Make your own arrangements for lunch and dinner and stay overnight in Da Nang.

Day 3: Da Nang – Transfer to Hoi An (B)

Activities: Visit the Cham Museum in Da Nang and complete the transfer to Hoi An, followed by a walking tour in the afternoon.

Take breakfast at the hotel and await collection from our guide and driver. On the way to Hoi An, we will visit the Cham Museum, a fantastic chance to learn about the history of the civilization of Champa, who ruled much of central and southern Vietnam from the 2nd century to the 15th.

We will drop you off at your hotel in Hoi An once arrived, giving you a chance to settle in before our guide returns in the afternoon to do a brief walking tour around the town’s resplendent Ancient Town, where vibrant buildings soaked in history make up much of the appeal.

Notes: Make your own arrangements for lunch and dinner and stay overnight in Hoi An.

Day 4: Hoi An Rural Cycling Tour (B, L)

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel, our guide will arrive shortly with bicycles for the whole family. We begin cycling northeast of the city, passing gorgeous countryside and noting the fast-pace local scenes at Ba Le market, before arriving at the 7-hectare mangrove expanse of Bay Mau Forest. We will have a break in a local home, relaxing with a cup of green tea and taking the stroll around the lovely village.

Following this, we will board a round-bottomed basket boat, a simple and charming vessel used by the locals to catch fish. We will row around the beautiful, nipa palm-flanked waterways, letting the kids try their hands at casting fishing nets and steering the boat under the guidance of our local rower.

After disembarking at the shore, we will return to our gracious hosts from before and enjoy a medicinal footbath, one of the championed local spa treatments of Hoi An.

After this, you and your family are very welcome to help our hosts prepare lunch; this is a great chance for everyone to learn more about the ingredients and origins of central Vietnamese specialties like tam hữu (spring rolls), bánh xèo (stuffed crispy pancakes) and thịt nướng lá chuối (grilled meat in a banana leaf).

You will have time after lunch to relax in our host’s garden or the village. We will cycle back to town after this and drop you off to enjoy the rest of the day as free time. This would be a great chance to visit the many tailors dotted around town to get a great deal on cheap made-to-measure clothes for the family.

Day 5: Hoi An – Free Day (B)

Take breakfast together with the family, the second free day of the tour starts here.

Today, maybe you would like to check out Da Nang’s wonderful white-sand coast, the most popular section of which can be found at Cua Dai and An Bang beaches, but quieter slices of paradise lie just further afield on the gorgeous Cham Islands.

To expand your knowledge of the Champa Kingdom, a half-day trip to My Son Sanctuary will reveal much of its mysterious history through the Hindu temples left to ruin here.

Day 6: Hoi An – Drive to Da Nang – Departure (B)

Savor the final breakfast on the tour before enjoying a bit of time in the morning to stroll around Hoi An, or maybe collect any clothes that you have ordered from the tailor.

Our driver will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to Da Nang International Airport where you will catch your onward flight.

This is where the tour will end. We thank you sincerely for joining us and we look forward to welcoming you back to Vietnam in the future!
