Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Hanoi Arrival

Upon your arrival, you are welcomed by our driver then the private car will take you to the Hanoi Old Quarter for checking in the hotel. The rest of the day, you are free at your leisure.

Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)

08.00 am: After breakfast, we start the Hanoi City Tour. The first destination is Ho Chi Minh Complex including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, his stilt house, pond and garden as well as listening about his revolution life. Then, drive to visit Temple of Literature – first Vietnam’s National University. Have lunch in a Vietnamese restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the museum of Ethnic Minority to learn more about 54 minority groups of Vietnam. Then, walking around Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, then we have a cyclo tour before enjoying the Water-Puppet Show. Tour ends at the hotel around 17.00 pm at the hotel.

Day 3: Hanoi – Halong (B, L, D)

08.00 am: Pick up from the hotel in Hanoi then we drive to Halong City through the paddy fields in the Red River Delta. We will stop along the way for refreshments. After 4 hours of driving, we arrive at Tuan Chau Wharf – Break and photo opportunities.

12:30: You are transferred by tender to the boat – enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise briefing and safety instructions.

After that, your lunch will be served while cruising through the bay. The following activities, we will visit exciting Ba Hang fishing village, the village is free from busy roads and streets, electric lights, houses, and high rise buildings. Instead, there are only herds of little boats and rafts. You will have the chance to discover the traditional culture and customs of the fishermen. Enjoy kayaking, swimming, relaxing on the cruise (if the weather permits).

After that, we return to the boat and join a cooking class. Optional of kayaking at Bat Cave. Dinner and overnight on the boat

Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B, L)

You should get up early to enjoy Tai Chi instruction on the sundeck (duration about 30 minutes). And then you are transferred by tender to the Sung Sot Cave. Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat. (Proper shoes are highly recommended).

Back to the cruise by tender, then check-out and enjoy a fantastic cruise on the bay. You will have buffet brunch (breakfast/lunch) while cruising back through Halong Bay to the pier. We will settle the bills after breakfast. Relax on the sundeck or in the dining room enjoying the bay scenery as we approach the pier.

11.30: We will be transferred by tender to the pier. Time to say goodbye to the crew to go back Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi around 4.30 pm, ends today tour by dropping you off at your hotel.

Day 5: Hanoi – Da Nang – Hoi An (B)

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Da Nang, where you will meet with your guide before going on to your hotel in Hoi An.

Day 6: Hoi An walking tour (B)

Spend half a day on a walking tour of the ancient trading port, with a visit to some of the former merchant homes and the famous 400-year-old Japanese covered bridge that was built to help link two parts of the town.

After a visit to the Hoi An Museum and the town’s market, the remainder of the day is yours at leisure for further exploration of the area.

Days 7 – 11: Hoi An (B, L)

You’ll have time at leisure to explore Hoi An and the surrounding area, with the possibility of hiring a bicycle to get out and about. You could also take a boat (at own cost) to the nearby Cham Islands where you can partake in some snorkeling, take an optional excursion to Hue or Da Nang, or spend time relaxing on the beach in Hoi Am itself – where will be able to see the sunrise over Cham in the early morning.

Day 12: Hoi An – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh (B)

Following breakfast, you’ll head for the airport in Da Nang to take a flight to Ho Chi Minh, where a guide will meet you ahead of the transfer to your hotel.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh city tour (B, L)

Take a tour of the city formerly known as Saigon to see the many famous landmarks, including the Municipal Theatre and the imposing Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the 1800s by French colonists.

There will also be the chance to visit the former US Embassy and Reunification Palace, which was the home of the South Vietnamese President during the Vietnam War. It was also the place where the Vietnam War came to an end when a tank from North Vietnam broke through the main gate.

Following time at the War Remnants Museum, you’ll head for the Chinese district to visit the huge Binh Tay Market and the temple dedicated to Thien Hau before spending the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 14: Depart Saigon (B)

Leave your hotel and head for the airport for your return flight home.
